Supersuckers Roaring into Santa Barbara

supersuckers mp3s, songs, and tour schedule

The Supersuckers are getting ready for another one of their infamous crowd stealing performances at San Diego's Street Scene September 22nd. As a warm they are taking over the Velvet Jones stage September 21st in Santa Barbara.

Known for their hard charging, high energy brand of indie rock, the Supersuckers have built a loyal following since their debut back in 1988. Of late the band has also been dabbling in alternative country. The new songs bring an earthiness to the table that ads a little extra flavor to their shows. Old fans need not worry though. A guaranteed good time by all is still part of every Supersuckers show.

What You Missed

JAMES BROWN @ KEY CLUB (MORONGO)

September 3rd – Even at the age of seventy three, the drugs, the women and who knows what else, the Godfather of Soul still has the moves and voice to bring the Morongo crowd to its feet. Even though at times it seemed like the songs went on forever the energy of the band, the backup singers and James’ command of the stage kept you enthralled.

James and his band ripped through most of the old classics like “Get Up (Sex Machine)” and “Cold Sweat”. The Key Club turned out to be a cool venue too with its three tiered levels. The only drawbacks were the seating on the floor and the fact that you have to drive an hour and half from LA to a desert casino when there’s nothing else around to do but gamble after the show and lose your money. At least I got to see a legend live up to his name!
